Our Activities: 

An Emphasis on Patriotism, Education, and Historic Preservation

The Queen Alliquippa Chapter NSDAR works to achieve the objectives of Patriotism, Education,
and Historic Preservation through many activities, events, and projects.

Patriotism:
  • Friends of Veterans

  • Operation Troop Appreciation (OTA) -- Learn More about OTA

  • Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans a subsidiary of Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs  -- Learn More about Guardian Angels

  • Collect the stories of our chapter’s American Revolutionary War veterans

  • Participate in the McKeesport Memorial Day Parade

  • Participate in the Christmas Tree program at the Festival of Lights in Renziehausen Park each December

Education/Awards:
  • ROTC NSDAR Awards Program, QAC ROTC -- Learn More

  • DAR Good Citizens Award (high school seniors) -- Learn More

  • DAR American History Essay Award (Grades five through eight) -- Learn More

  • Sponsor local students for PSSDAR and NSDAR Scholarships - Learn More

  • Constitution Week Education - During September, share information about the Constitution with schools and local communities

  • Support Junior Membership's Helen Pouch Fund, which support DAR schools and all teachers through classroom grants

  • Collect Box Tops for Schools

  • Learn about history and educate others

  • Donate books to local libraries

Historic Preservation/DAR Missions
  • Place historic site and memorial grave markers

  • Support the DAR Museum which preserves many historical artifacts 

  • Support genealogy projects locally and nationally to help others learn about their family history

  • Patriot Record Project - Index American Revolutionary War Patriot records to preserve them for future generations

  • Support the Madonna of the Trail statue preservation activities

  • Collect plastic caps for benches along the Youghigheny
